Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 08/12/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how checkuri.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you sign up for pre-launch updates or use our URL/email risk-checking tool on https://checkuri.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information directly from you:

  • Email Address: This is collected via the "Register Interest" form on our under-construction page, along with an associated timestamp of your submission.
  • A Non-Reversible Hash of Your IP Address: When you submit a form on our site, we generate a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. This hash cannot be reversed back into your original address, and we do not store your raw IP.
  • Submission Records: Every submission to our service (your Register Interest email today; the specific link or email address you ask us to check, once that tool launches) is retained in an internal log alongside the IP hash above, our assessment of it, and a timestamp — kept to improve our service and detect abuse of it (see Section 2).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above only for the following explicit purposes:

  • Sending Updates: To send you email notifications about the development progress, major features, and the official launch of checkuri's free URL and email risk-checking service.
  • Compliance: To maintain a record of your consent to receive these updates, as required by data privacy laws.
  • Service Improvement: Analyzing past submissions and their outcomes to improve the accuracy of our risk-assessment logic over time.
  • Abuse and Security Monitoring: Detecting patterns like a single actor making repeated submissions to find a way past our checks. The IP hash described in Section 1 lets us recognize repeat submissions from the same source without ever storing or being able to recover your actual IP address.

We do not use this information for targeted advertising or any purpose other than those described above during this pre-launch phase.

3. Sharing Your Information

We are committed to protecting your email address and do not sell or share it for any commercial or marketing purposes with third parties.

We only share your email address with the following necessary service providers:

  • Email Service Provider: we may use a third-party service provider to manage and send our update emails. This provider acts only on our instructions and is contractually obligated to protect your data.

4. Your Consent and Opt-Out Rights

By submitting your email address, you are providing us with explicit consent to send you pre-launch updates.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time:

  • Unsubscribe: You can easily stop receiving emails by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link located at the bottom of every email we send you.
  • Deletion Request: You may contact us directly (see Section 7) to request the deletion of your email address from our records. We will process this request promptly and without undue delay.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your email address from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no internet-based site can be 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
